Training

To ensure your safety and continued health in these uncertain times, our therapist has undergone training in Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) to WHO standards as well as further industry-specific IPC training for a massage practice. Updated first aid skills for Covid-19 have also been acquired. Training undertaken:

Prior to your arrival

In preparing for your appointment, please ensure that you:

  • Wear your own face mask or suitable face covering. Whilst no longer mandated in healthcare settings, OB Medical policy requests that you continue to do so if you have any immune deficiency concerns. Also if you have acute Respiratory symptoms please inform reception and where possible wait in your car and continue to wear a mask.

  • Are not wearing any jewellery (wedding ring excepted).
  • Leave your handbag, shopping, work bag etc, in your car, at work or at home where possible. Car: leave securely in the boot, out of sight.
  • Bring your own water bottle if needed.
  • Bring your own hair ties, clips, bands, if applicable (for tying up hair giving clear access to neck and shoulders where needed).
  • Note that card payments are preferred at this time, so please bring your payment card.

IN SUMMARY: Please bring only absolute essentials to your session if possible. Thank you!

At the clinic

  • Masks or face coverings are optional but encouraged, per OB Medical policy. A disposable one is available at cost, if needed.

  • Please sanitise your hands with the provided hand sanitiser on arrival.

  • On arrival, pass through the entrance lobby and turn right for the Ovens-Ballincollig Medical Group reception. Remedy Massage is on the name board by the door.

  • If the reception doors are closed for any reason, please text or call me.

  • In OB Medical reception, let the reception staff know you have arrived for Remedy Massage. They will direct you to the waiting room.

  • If reception is busy, please be patient and wait to be called.

  • Bathroom facilities are available, please ask reception.

  • The therapist will check if you have developed any symptoms of illness since you were sent the appointment reminder with covid screening advisory.

  • If you show any signs of illness, your session will be postponed.
  • You will be brought directly to the treatment room, asking you to observe the clinic’s ‘no touch’ policy.
  • *NOTE* The building is locked outside of normal hours. You will be given arrival instructions for out-of-hours appointments.

In the treatment room

  • Hand sanitiser is available for your use in the treatment room. The hand sanitiser used is hospital grade (70% alcohol).

  • You will be asked to wear a face mask or suitable face covering during your appointment, unless it causes stress, anxiety or respiratory difficulty.
  • When lying face down on the massage table you may remove the face mask or face covering, as provision has been made for a sanitary face cradle covering. This arrangement can be changed if it does not suit your needs.
  • If needed for special circumstances, the therapist may use vinyl gloves during treatment. Vinyl gloves are allergen-safe and latex-free.

  • Tissues are provided for your personal needs, especially when following good respiratory etiquette for coughing or sneezing.
  • A small lined bin is also provided for your discarded tissues or other small waste, which is changed out between clients.
  • For your clothing and accessories a plastic tub is provided, so that you may leave everything in one tidy place.
  • Between clients, the massage table is fully stripped and all linens are replaced with fresh linens, with the used linens placed in a secure sealed laundry bag. Laundry is always done the same evening.
  • Between clients all high touch surfaces and common areas of the treatment room are cleaned and disinfected.
  • The room is also well ventilated between clients by opening the window and door.
